New Jersey car accidents may lead to injuries or death

One person's life has sadly been cut short in a tragic motor vehicle collision in New Jersey. In addition, another person suffered injuries in the crash. These types of car accidents sometimes occur due to the carelessness of a driver, which is grounds for litigation.

The recent two-car crash occurred at around 10:24 a.m. on a recent Monday. According to authorities, a 30-year-old man was driving a car along a parkway. Then, his car reportedly collided with a minivan that a 42-year-old individual was driving.

The 30-year-old man ended up passing away in the collision. However, the 42-year-old individual suffered injuries and was thus transported to a medical center for treatment. Authorities continued to investigate the cause of the collision.

Police may discover through their investigation that one of the parties caused the accident due to careless behavior behind the wheel. For instance, perhaps one of them was speeding. Alternatively, this individual may have been trying to operate a phone while driving.

If the 42-year-old person was found to have caused the accident, the other individual's surviving loved ones may choose to file a wrongful death claim against this individual, seeking the reimbursement of damages. Meanwhile, if the 30-year-old man was found to have caused the crash, the other individual may file a personal injury claim against his estate and anyone else with an ownership interest in the car he was driving at the time of the crash. A claim that is fought successfully, based upon a showing of negligence, may lead to damages to cover funeral expenses, medical costs and other losses associated with these types of car accidents.
