Wrong-way car accidents may lead to serious injuries

Three people have sadly suffered serious injuries in a car collision in New Jersey. The wrong-way accident took place early in the morning on a recent Sunday. These kinds of car accidents can easily occur due to a driver's negligence, which is grounds for litigation.

The recent New Jersey collision took place a little before 2 a.m. along Interstate 78. According to police, a woman, 51, was headed east along the interstate's westbound lanes. At that time, her car reportedly sideswiped a truck and hit another car head-on.

Police said that two car passengers, ages 16 and 25, were ejected from the car. These passengers and their driver, 41, ended up suffering serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. One was later listed as being in stable condition, whereas the conditions of the other two were said to be critical.

The woman who reportedly drove the wrong way on the highway ended up suffering minor injuries. Likewise, the driver of the pickup that she allegedly sideswiped suffered minor injuries. Authorities continued to investigate why the woman was driving in the wrong direction on the interstate.

The injured parties in the wrong-way New Jersey accident may opt to file personal injury claims against the woman who reportedly caused the collision, seeking damages. If they are successful in their claims, they may receive damage awards that might help them to cover the types of losses linked to such car accidents -- for example, medical bills and even the loss of wages. No amount of money can undo the events leading to an injury-causing car accident. However, it may help the injured parties to more easily move forward from this type of situation.
